The second coming of our Lord and Savior, Yeshua the Messiah, is inevitable. The signs of the times are clear indications that Yeshua can come any day now. The last portion of Paul’s first Letter to the Thessalonians provides instructions for preparing for the second coming of the Lord.
Paul reminds the people that the Messiah will come suddenly and unless they are watchful, they will be caught unaware. They were instructed to remember that they were children of the light and they were to conduct themselves at home, in the community, at work, and in the marketplace as they awaited the ultimate return of the Hebrew Messiah. Finally, Paul provides what appears to be a checklist for staying prepared not knowing when the Messiah would ultimately return.

How should Believers prepare for the second coming of Yeshua? Paul taught that the Messiah’s return will come suddenly, so Believers must stay watchful and live as children of light. This means conducting ourselves with integrity at home, in the community, at work, and in the marketplace. He offered a practical checklist of attitudes and actions—such as rejoicing always, praying continually, and holding fast to what is good—so we remain ready no matter when Yeshua comes.
