The second Letter to the Thessalonians seems to be a continuation of the first Letter as it appears to pick up where the first Letter left off. The first Letter concluded with the second coming of the Messiah for the Saints who had fallen asleep and those who will be alive at His coming.
The opening Chapter of the second Letter addresses why YeHoVaH will deal with those who created trouble for His Saints, what would happen to those who were persecuting them, what YeHoVaH was going to do about it, and how. The common questions of: who wrote 2nd Thessalonians, to whom it was written, when, and  why will also be answered?

Why will God bring judgment and vengeance as described in 2nd Thessalonians? Paul taught that YeHoVaH will repay those who persecute His Saints with judgment and destruction, while granting relief and vindication to those who remain faithful. The opening of 2nd Thessalonians explains that God’s justice ensures that affliction will come upon the oppressors, while glory and rest will be given to Believers at Messiah’s return.
