The closing Chapter of Paul’s letter to Titus, whom he had left on the island of Crete to establish order among the assemblies, begs the question of Why God saved people and What is the purpose of salvation or being saved? Paul’s reasons for leaving Titus are explained in Chapter One as he identifies the qualifications for elders and bishops, the type of people the Cretans were, and the challenges Titus would face to establish order.

In Chapter Two, Paul uses the Torah Covenant Household Model to establish an Assembly Household Model essentially replicating the Torah household pattern inside the Covenant Assembly using theeffective outcome of Grace that Saves. Paul concludes with what the results of Titus’ work should look like.

What does Titus 3 reveal about the purpose of salvation for Believers? In this teaching, Arthur Bailey explores the final chapter of Paul’s letter to Titus, focusing on a central question: why did God save us? Paul brings his instructions full circle by showing what the life of a saved Believer should look like after sound leadership and doctrine have been established.

Titus 3 emphasizes that salvation is not just about being rescued, but about transformation and purpose. Believers are called to live differently—demonstrating humility, obedience, and good works as evidence of the grace they have received. This reflects the foundation laid in earlier chapters, where Paul established order, sound doctrine, and the role of grace in shaping righteous living.

Arthur Bailey highlights that the ultimate purpose of salvation is to produce a people who reflect the character of YeHoVaH in their conduct and relationships. Salvation, therefore, is both a gift and a calling—empowering Believers to live productive, godly lives that align with the Kingdom and fulfill the work they have been saved to do.
