The prophetic ministry of Moses takes center stage as Moses the Prophet prepares Israel for the transition of His Leadership to Joshua who will lead the people over the Jordan to take possession of the Promised Land. Moses warned that after entering the Promised Land, Israel would turn to foreign gods, forsake YeHoVaH, and break their Covenant with Him. As a result, they would face destruction as divine judgment for their disobedience. To counter this, Moses emphasized the importance of hearing and obeying the Law, ensuring that all Israelites and those who joined them understood the blessings of obedience and the severe consequences of rebellion against YeHoVaH.
