Abraham Makes a Covenant Chapter 21:22-34

After Abraham had dwelt several years in the land, the king and the chief captain of his army comes to establish an agreement with Abraham. It appears that Abimelech had kept an eye on Abraham, and it was clear to him that Abraham’s Elohim was a mighty, Mighty One. He is now concerned that as Abraham prospers and multiplies that he could become a problem, so he feels a need to establish an agreement with Abraham that Abraham would not cause harm to him, his son or his son’s children. Abimelech wanted assurance from Abraham to treat him fairly as he had been treated.
