YeHoVaH’s established ordained leadership amongst the Hebrew Israelites did not stop the people from challenging their leadership’s authority as demonstrated in the previous Chapters. Although the Levites were selected to serve, Aaron and his sons were the established leadership responsible for the lives of the people and accountable to YeHoVaH.

This portion of Numbers reveals yet another clear selection process and the great responsibility given to Aaron and his sons for the lives of all the people.
