Crossing Over Jordan – Joshua 4:1-24

The miraculous crossing of the Jordan River was the beginning of a new chapter of conquest establishing the nation of Israel as an unstoppable force to be reckoned with. The event was a spectacle to behold in the eyes of the Israelites and the news sent shock waves of fear to the nations who heard about it. The Instructions given to Joshua to instruct the Priests and the 12 men, one from each of the 12 tribes, would be recounted for generations. A detailed observation of the different components involving the entire nation’s participation raises questions that will be addressed in the teaching.
