The Name Jesus has been a topic of discussion in modern Messianic and Hebrew Roots assemblies since discovering that the church was required to keep the Commandments of YeHoVaH. The subject of the Savior’s name and the various translations into the English language has left many with the question of “Did Mary really name her baby Jesus according to the instructions given to her by the angel Gabriel in the Gospel of Luke?” Christian denominations and Christians alike argue emphatically that Jesus is the only name given whereby a person can be saved; while Messianic, Hebrew Roots, and Sacred Name groups have concluded the Savior’s name to be Yeshua, Yahshuah, Yehoshua or some other name altogether.
