Listen to the Teaching: Pentecost - The Feast of Harvest

When Father established His Feast cycles, He connected each cycle to a particular harvest and a reminder of the Children of Israel’s deliverance from their bondage in Egypt. The first mention of Pentecost, Feast of Weeks, and the Day of Firstfruits was the Feast of Harvest connected to the wheat grain harvest. The Early Feasts of YeHoVaH are divinely connected to the barley harvest and the wheat harvest.

What is Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • Pentecost is a Feast commanded by YeHoVaH to be celebrated as a Holy Convocation.
  • Pentecost is 50 Days after the Day of Firstfruits which occurs the day after the weekly Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

What are other names used for Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • The Feast of Weeks (Biblical, associated with counting up to the fiftieth day)
  • The Feast of Harvest (Biblical, associated with the wheat harvest)
  • Day of Firstfruits (Biblical, associated with the wheat harvest)
  • The Feast of Pentecost/The fiftieth day (Greek, transliterated into English)

When is Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • The Day of Pentecost is arrived at by counting 7 Sabbaths and 1 Day from the weekly Sabbath within the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
  • Pentecost is the fiftieth day and is always on the 1st day of the week, Sunday.

What does Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest Commemorate?

  • Remembrance of being slaves in Egypt.
  • Remembrance to follow YeHoVaH’s decrees.
  • A time of rejoicing for the blessings bestowed upon YeHoVaH’s people.
  • The connection between the Firstfruits of Unleavened Bread and The Fiftieth Day.
  • Celebration of the harvest and provisions of YeHoVaH.

Was the Outpouring of the Spirit a fulfillment of Pentecost? NO

  • The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a fulfillment of the promise of Father as stated by Yeshua in Act 1.
  • The Outpuring of the Holy Spirit is a fulfillment of Joel 2.
  • The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a fulfillment of the promise of Father as stated by Ezekiel.
  • The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit is NOT a fulfillment of Pentecost. There are no prophecies in Scripture indicating Pentecost would be fulfilled.
  • The Holy Spirit was continually given throughout Acts on other days besides the Day of Pentecost.

The Promised Outpouring of the Spirit was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost.

  • The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit is a fulfillment of Joel 2 as stated by Peter in Acts 2

Who should celebrate Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • All of Israel and those who join themselves to Israel should celebrate the Feast of Pentecost.
  • The Body of Messiah.

Why should we celebrate Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • We celebrate the Feast of Pentecost because it is commanded by YeHoVaH.
  • Pentecost was celebrated in the Old Testament although not by the name “Pentecost”.

How do we celebrate Pentecost-The Feast of Harvest?

  • No ordinary work
  • Holy Convocation
  • Firstfruits are given; the amount is determined by the giver. Deuteronomy 26:5-10 is recited.
  • Rejoice in YeHoVaH’s presence with other believers
  • Commune with the Saints
  • Celebrate in ways that would please Him: keep His Commands
  • Be aware that He is with us and watching us.
  • Be aware that we are being judged by our actions, attitudes, words, etc.
  • Celebrate in spite of what others may say and do.

What is a Pilgrimage Feast?

  • A Pilgrimage Feast is a Feast where all Israelites (including all grafted in by faith in Yeshua Messiah) must appear before YeHoVaH, our Elohim, at the place He will choose.

    The three Pilgrimage Feasts are the:
    1. Feast of Unleavened Bread
    2. Feast of Weeks or Pentecost or Feast of Harvest
    3. Feast of Tabernacles

What are Firstfruits Offerings?

  • Firstfruits Offerings are given at the three Pilgrimage Feasts.
  • Firstfruits are a commanded Offering, the amount is determined by the giver.
  • Giving of Firstfruits is an Act of Faith and Obedience that ensures the blessings of YeHoVaH!
  • YeHoVaH Commanded that during the Feasts, no one was to appear before Him empty- handed.
  • Everyone was to bring an offering in proportion to how YeHoVaH had blessed them.

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully (2 Corinthians 9:6).
