2nd Peter: An Epistle of Peter Chapter 2 – Teaching Review

2nd peter chap 2 feature

Shalom Saints,

This is a WAKE-UP call to all who want to serve the Almighty in spirit and in truth. Arthur broke ground with an empirically true statement that everybody believes in something; create a religion and you WILL get followers.

This message was a compassionate plea from Peter, Paul, Yeshua, and Arthur to know the truth and live it so you will not be fooled by the counterfeiters.

Once your eyes are open to the truth that we are spirits living in a body and that the spirit world is more real than the natural world we “see”, you become increasingly aware of the deceptive nature of the world in which we live. Peter alludes to this in his statement of being “vexed by the ungodly”. Peter walked with our Messiah and was a prominent disciple. Peter knew from personal experience that we must add to our faith and build our righteous character in order not to fall.

Here is a teaching devoted to adding to your faith: https://store.arthurbaileyministries.com/collections/dvds/products/messianic-201-adding-to-your-faith

In modern terminology, Peter is saying, “Listen up! I have walked this righteous road. I know what is down those by-ways if you get off the road. I know there are roads that look like the right road, but that ain’t it! Please, Please, PLEASE listen to me; I am trying to save you from the deceptions of this world and your own delusions of a better way. If you choose not to listen, I will mourn insert for your loss and your judgment to come, but the blood has been washed from my hands.

Arthur conveys to us that we, as children of The Most High, must seek to please Yehovah more than we seek to please ourselves, spouses, children, family, friends, etc. Then Arthur attacks the negative mindset that wants to obstruct our enthusiastic response to Yehovah’s calling on our lives. Listen as Arthur tells us that if Yehovah chooses you that means YOU ARE QUALIFIED. If you are not ready, He will get you ready!

Peter gives an extensive warning against false prophets. Listen as Arthur explains how a false prophet can openly bring a private message of heresy. This was an interesting explanation with relevance to what is happening in churches near all of us.

Then Arthur brings Paul’s writings to the conversation. Paul has called for the elders from Ephesus to join him in Miletus. He then tells the elders how he has warned them for 3 years about the things to come:

Acts 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. (KJV)

This is so serious, Paul cried. He wanted his Sisters and Brothers to listen so they would not fall prey to the “other gospels” of their day. I think Arthur understands one of the pains associated with righteousness is, no matter how much we warn people, they will still follow people who mislead. That is not discouragement, but encouragement! We know that a person may have to hear the word many times before their eyes and ears are opened. So…

Let’s keep presenting and living the truth so we can be servants worthy to hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

Sharon’s Reflections on the Teaching

I have so many thoughts and emotions whirling in my head as a result of this teaching! I can relate to Paul’s tears, Peter’s pleading and I can even go back to Moses warning the people not to sink into idolatry when he died. I have approached many of my loved ones, friends, acquaintances and straight-up strangers with portions of the truth with very little evidence that my words even got past the skin on their foreheads, much less their minds and hearts. I have been frustrated, I have cried, I have begged Yehovah to enlighten them, but I haven’t seen much yet.

I said to myself, “They are so ungodly and not thinking right!” Then I think about what Arthur posted this week on Facebook, “Should we be surprised when ungodly, worldly people do ungodly and worldly things?”

Over time, I learned to apply the parable of the sower to people that I approach with the word, the seed. Many will not understand or even want to engage in a faith that will cause them to give up the comforts of the self-god who allows one to do whatever one chooses and be content with the pleasures of this life. They want the jobs, power, and money as their backups.

The real Elohim wants to train you so that you are disciplined and will not fall prey to the wolves of this world. This involves being tested to grow your faith and your confidence in this Torah lifestyle. The Almighty wants to you to have the Creator of the Universe as your backup.

I also know that there are other laborers in the Kingdom and I pray that they will have an impact on those that I haven’t reached. I must remember, a stranger reached me and she had been faced with opposition from some of her family members! I am comforted knowing that I am doing what Yehovah has asked me to do and the rest He will do.

Until next time… Blessings to You and Yours,

Sharon
