After Moses’ reluctance and resistance to return to Egypt had invoked YeHoVaH’s anger, Moses prepares to return to Egypt. Moses has finally accepted the assignment from YeHoVaH to deliver the message to Pharaoh, “”Let Israel, YeHoVaH’s firstborn, GO!””
In last week’s Teaching, we discussed the implications of Moses asking YeHoVaH to state who He is.
The Name of God is a very controversial subject for many in the Messianic, Messianic Jewish, and Hebrew Roots communities. While some insist we don’t know the Name or His Name should not be used, others insist on not only saying the Name of God, but also demand His Name should be pronounced a certain way.

This week we will look at the chronology of Moses’ birth in proximity to the Children of Israel’s stay in Egypt. When we align Moses’ birth with the prophecy given to Abraham, there are some interesting challenges to determining how long the Children of Israel were in Egypt when Moses was born.
The writing of Moses known as Exodus, the second book of the Torah, a.k.a. the Law, a.k.a. the Commandments of God, opens by chronicling the Children of Israel who came into Egypt during the famine. Israel, the deceased father of the Children of Israel, has been carried back into the land of Canaan to be buried in the cave of Machpelah.
The writings of Moses, given to him by YeHoVaH, present a continual journey from creation, to the deliverance of the Children of Israel out of Egypt, and the giving of the Torah, a.k.a. the Law, a.k.a. the Commandments of God.
Yeshua concluded His series of parables about the Kingdom of God, which exposed the hypocrisy and wickedness of the Chief Priests, elders of the people, Pharisees, and Herodians, only to be confronted with questions from the Sadducees that exposed their lack of knowledge and understanding of the Scriptures.
The subject of eternal life was a cause for concern for many Hebrew Israelites in the days of Yeshua the Messiah. All four Gospel narratives cover the subject of eternal life and Yeshua teaches on eternal life extensively in its connection with the Law.
“In this portion of Matthew, the Messiah continues His first public teaching. It is commonly known as the Beatitudes (blessings) from the Sermon on the Mount. Yeshua’s teaching transitions from the blessings to the expected role of his followers in the earth; their ethics, moral codes, and values they were/are to live by; and how they were/are to conduct themselves in the world.
