Shalom Saints,

I can get easily distracted by adults and children in front of me at the teachings, so I like sitting near the front.  I am usually in the second row.  That way I am assured I won’t miss a bit of the verbal and nonverbal message.  Arthur has a lot of facial expressions and gestures that for me, add to the dynamics of his delivery of the message coming from the Holy Spirit.  If I were at the foot of Mt. Sinai in Exodus 20, I think I would have wanted to be near the front to clearly hear the trumpets blowing and feel the shaking of the earth!  Now I’m not comparing Arthur to that event, but the same Holy Spirit shows up in HOI and I don’t want to miss a bit by being distracted.

And, this teaching hit some nerves prior to Arthur’s broadcast.  He was warned to be very sure of what he was about to teach.  I definitely wanted to know what all the hub-bub was about.

Summary of the Teaching

No Spoilers here!

Hanukkah is a man-made holiday that was not commanded by Yehovah.  The word Hanukkah means dedication, specifically an altar.  The rededication of the Temple Altar by the Maccabees, after it was desecrated by the Greeks, was not the first Temple Altar dedication.  Scripture prescribes the Altar be dedicated over a period of seven (7) days. The Tabernacle in the Wilderness (Exodus 29:37), Solomon’s Temple (II Chronicles 7:8-9) and the rebuilt Zerubbabel’s Temple Altar (Ezra 6:16) were all dedicated.
The Apocrypha which contains the story of the Maccabees, and the story of their Hanukkah Celebration, was part of the Christian inter-testament writings and was never a part of the Hebrew Tanakh or Old Testament. We need to make informed decisions about what we do and what we celebrate.

Buzz on the Teaching

I was there when Arthur taught Hanukkah Then and Now and as a matter of fact, I edited the transcript for the EBook.  I had also read the Apocrypha from front to back and highlighted the Books of the Maccabees.  I thought to myself, when Arthur announced the title as The Hidden Truth, “what hidden truth??”

Well, I was floored by what I had missed or just hadn’t put two and two together.  My Sister Saint that sits up front with me on Thursdays, was dumbfounded too.  During the teaching we kept looking at each other and saying things like, “Wow!  That goes directly against Yehovah!”  “I would be afraid to do that!”  “That’s a big mess!”

This solidifies in me the NECESSITY to be a continual seeker and studier of Yehovah’s word.  Truth is progressive in the sense that we learn precept by precept.  In this present life we never arrive, but when Yeshua returns, we will know fully.

Isaiah 28:10 King James Version

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Until next time… Blessings to You and Yours,
Sharon
