The Truth Produces Power Teaching Review

Shalom Saints,

Arthur burst asunder any lingering uncertainty about distinguishing the believing believer from the unbelieving believer! Arthur’s fundamental theme was, “Yeshua said that there are signs that are supposed to follow believers!” Because of this Teaching, there should be no doubt on how to discern for ourselves if we are the true believers.

Mark 16:17-20

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; ¹⁸They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. ¹⁹So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. ²⁰And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

In order to be a true believer, we first have to believe the Word of Yeshua Messiah. When Yeshua says that we can do the things that He did and more, we have to walk and talk in that belief. Arthur clearly said that one of the reasons why signs and wonders don’t follow most people, is because they are walking in what they believe, not in what is taught in Scripture. This was so important to understand that Arthur stopped in the midst of the Declaration of YeHoVaH’s Blessings so that we could “right our minds” before declaring Elohim’s Peace, Power, Promises and Prosperity. Arthur accentuated that words that are spoken without faith do not bring about anything; they are just words! Only the words of faith will bring about that which is being confessed.

Arthur identified a key to our skepticism of our powers in the Holy Spirit. He said that when we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that for most of our waking hours we are not even aware of the presence of the Holy Spirit! Why? We are not practicing HIS Presence! We always need to be aware of our Spiritual Companion. When we practice the Presence of the Holy Spirit, we are conscious of the Power of the Almighty with us, more conscious of the words we speak forth, and more intentional in our actions. When we are aware of the presence of the Almighty, we will seek His guidance above our own understanding.

Psalm 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Arthur elaborated on the quandary of the seven sons of Sceva. Through this Scriptural example, it is very plain that the true servants, who walk in truth, will produce power that casts out demons. On the other hand, demons will overpower and overtake imitators and counterfeits. Only the Holy Spirit can subjugate the forces of darkness!

In conclusion, Arthur concisely stated that unbelieving believers are those who confess to know truth, but do not walk in the truth of the Word. Believing believers will walk in the truth of the Word. Believing believers will walk in the faith of what Yeshua taught. Believing believers will produce power!

Sharon’s Reflections on the Teaching

At the beginning of the teaching, I prayed along with Arthur that there would be no doubt or unbelief in me. I was a bit anxious when he started talking about being honest with ourselves and discerning whether we were a believing believer or an unbelieving believer. I knew that belief was not enough. I began to question and assess myself. What signs follow me? There is no room for gray areas in the spiritual world. Either I am following Messiah and doing what he said I could do, or I am not!

I determined that I have to continue in the word of Messiah by being an active vessel the Holy Spirit can work through. To be an active vessel, I need to increase my awareness of His Presence in all my waking hours and step out in faith to call those things that are not as though they are.

I reflected on a recent example of not being aware that the Father’s Presence was with me. I was acting in the flesh, and was not spiritually intentional in my speech or actions. That situation resulted in consequences that made me repent. Going forward, I will do better because I know better.

I have increased my awareness of His Presence. I have even invited the Father into my sleep time and dreams. I have been more aware of what I say to myself and others. I intentionally don’t allow my spirit to come under evil spirits.

I can also see the benefits of this Teaching on my husband, Floyd. Floyd mentioned a situation to me about our 20 year-old son, which last week would have raised Floyd's blood pressure and caused him to excitedly spurt out words. But today, he was so calm that I started to speak excitedly with concern about why he seemed unconcerned. Floyd, calmly told me that he is refusing to let our son’s antics get him upset.

Floyd was calm and didn’t flare up when our son and his friends were “joy-riding” in OUR truck and it is now coated in mud and has mud in the interior too. I was just hearing about it over the phone, and I was getting outraged. As soon as I heard myself say “outraged”, I felt a check in my spirit. I agreed with Floyd that I too wasn’t going to let my son’s disregard for my property cause me to come under an “outrage spirit”. Floyd said he would definitely deal with the situation that evening, and without being emotional.

Arthur said that the outcome of the teaching was for us to walk in Power according to the Holy Spirit that we claim we have. Let us all walk in Truth, step by step, precept by precept, and line by line according to the Word of the Father.
